From legal assistance in forming a charitable organization to advocacy issues and professional development, the Center for Nonprofits has it all. The Center’s mission is to build the power of New Jersey’s non-profit community by serving as the premier voice and comprehensive resource for and about the sector. Membership dues are relative to budget size and numerous benefits are available.

State of New Jersey Nonprofit Info Center
New Jersey’s Nonprofit Information Center portal is as a one-stop shop for nonprofits in New Jersey seeking to utilize various funding sources and volunteer opportunities available through the State. In May 2011, Governor Christie signed into law N.J.S.A. § 52:16A-110 requiring the Department of State to maintain, in a single, accessible location, a directory of State departments and agencies that provide resources to assist nonprofits in their daily operations.

Tech Soup Global – IT Donations & Discounts
TechSoup Global serves 80,000 organizations in 22 countries. They have provided over $1 billion in software donations in the last ten years. Techsoup Stock offers software donations to nonprofits from 35 major technology providers, including Microsoft, Cisco, Symantec, Intuit, and Adobe (for an administrative fee as little as 5% of retail cost). To qualify, organizations must be a 501(c)3. The Refurbished Computer Initiative gives nonprofits a chance to get low-cost, high-quality computers with a new operating system and up-to-date software (covered by a 90-day warranty).
Stay Exempt – Tax Basics for Non Profits
The Internal Revenue Service has launched Stay Exempt that provides tools and training on relevant topics for 501(c)(3) organizations. Included on the website are tutorials on how to classify an organization as a public charity, determine unrelated business income, and file IRS Form 990.
