The Cultural Recovery Center in Brooklyn has openings available for artists or collections damaged by Sandy. FAIC is offering volunteer services, supplies, and work space to help clean and stabilize artworks and cultural materials. The CRC will remain open through at least the end of February, but appointments should be made as early as possible by phone: 718-757-2140 or email: CulturalRecoveryCenter@gmail.com
The CRC is located on 33rd Street in Brooklyn, near the BQE, and there is a loading dock and elevator to accommodate larger works. They are also willing to send staff to New Jersey sites. If you need assistance contact the Collections Emergency Response Team hotline at 202-661-8068. Not many requests have come in from NJ so far.
